Commodity Manager PSR (Phenolic Specialty Resins)
Job Description:
Participate in the development, negotiations and implementation of the strategic sourcing plans for assigned commodities.
Proactively provide and implement proposals/suggestions regarding commodities and improve the interfaces with other functions like supply chain, sales, R&D, etc.
Responsibility for integrated supply plans, negotiations, implementation of contracts, supplier management and supplier evaluation.
Responsibility for the strategic procurement of assigned raw materials to support the European businesses and for driving year-over-year productivity.
Job Content:
- Commodity manager of the tier 2 items for the PSR business
- Sourcing for 6 different factories in 5 countries
- Total spend estimated at Euro 35 mill
- Managing 50 different commodity clusters
- Reports to Procurement Director
- Based in Rotterdam
Job Requirement:
- Effectively manage a portfolio of procurement commodities in terms of ensuring security of supply, drive productivity and manage suppliers;
- Develop and document strategic raw material strategies, using Procurement Plans (Strategic Source Process);
- Regularly report to the Procurement Team and business using a “Deep Dive” format;
- Understand market dynamics of assigned commodities and be able to translate these into value added agreements with selected vendors;
- Develop strong internal relationships with relevant businesses partners;
- Optimize cash flow aspects of assigned commodities;
- Support implementation and optimization of transactional flow of strategic raw materials utilizing standard procurement processes;
- Coordinate and assist in the development of monthly and annual price forecasts;
- Continually monitor the capability and effectiveness of sourcing from developing regions to developed regions.
Qualifications:
- Commercial or Chemical Bachelor degree, eventually MBA
- Several years relevant procurement experience preferably in the Chemicals Industry.
- Knowledge of current technologies related to: Process analysis, supply chain optimization, procurement, resource planning and optimization, customer integration;
- Good analytical and commercial skills
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and excellent interpersonal skills;
- SAP Materials Management Experience;
